Apokria (carnival) Winter Spectacle.

Winter brings with it some of the best photographic and cultural opportunities in Greece. Apokria is the last chance to eat, drink and be merry before the fasting of lent leading up to Easter (which will be our next trip). As such it offers arrange of colourful customs and traditions which are tremendous for photography.

We will be arriving in Athens on Saturday 17th February 2018 to explore the city and over the weekend take in the celebrations before moving on to Galaxidi for Clean Monday customs, then west to Messolonghi, an area that is truly under the radar of the average tourist and that offers spectacular views of the lagoon, traditional wooden houses on stilts and plenty of wildlife and authenticity. And of course our trip wouldn’t be complete without diving into antiquity asking the oracle of Delphi for the meaning of life. There will be sunsets, sunrises and starry nights as well as photo critiques and tuition on hand throughout the trip so no matter what your level, there will be the chance to learn along the way.
